Information: The timeline starts from 55 BC and Julius Caesars first foray into Britain and ends in 410 Ad when the Romans officially leave Britain. Highlights include 43 AD when Emperor Claudius sends four legions to conquer Britain and captures the capital Colchester, 60-61 AD Boudicca, queen of the Iceni, rebels against Britain, 75-77 AD Rome’s Conquest of Britain is complete. In 100 A.D. the Romans withdraw from Scotland and c.8000 miles of Roman roads now cross Britain, 122 AD Hadrian’s Wall starts construction, 211 AD Britain is divided into separate provinces, the South with London as the capital and the North with York as the capital. From 250 AD onwards attacks from Picts, Saxons, Anglos & Jutes start attacking Roman lands and begins the Roman downfall. 409 AD Britains expel Roman officials and fight for themselves.
