Roman Coin Ring - Gold Plated

Product Description: This Roman Coin Ring is made from lead-free pewter that is 22ct gold plated and has a coin on top of it showing the bust of a Roman emperor. The ring size can be changed to make it larger or smaller. The ring is supplied in a clear blister mounted to an information card. The information card depicts a Roman mosaic on the front and describes a brief history of Roman coinage on the reverse.

Information: Roman currency for most of Roman history consisted of gold, silver, bronze and copper coinage. Julius Caesar's was the first Roman coinage to feature a portrait of a living individual. The image of the Roman emperor took on a special importance in the centuries that followed because during the empire the emperor embodied the state and its policies. The reverse of the coins showed images of gods or deities, animals and mythical beasts or great buildings all attributed to the emperor.
