Product Description: This William I Penny Coin is made from lead-free pewter and has an image of the bust of William I on the obverse and a Cross pattée, with PAXS (peace) on the reverse. Information: William I usually known as William the Conqueror was the first Norman king of England, reigning from 1066 until his death in 1087. William invaded England, leading an army of Normans to victory over the Anglo-Saxon forces of Harold II at the Battle of Hastings, and suppressed subsequent English revolts in what has become known as the Norman Conquest.
