Kings and Queens Coin Poster - Flat A3

Product Description: This A3 size poster shows the coinage of the Monarchs of England from Alfred 'The Great' who ruled from 871 through to Elizabeth II. Each coin image shows the obverse of the coin with a depiction of the ruler on it, the rulers name and the dates they ruled are below. The poster includes a key showing the different ruling periods, from the Anglo-Saxons through to, the Tudors, the Stuarts and finally forward to the Windsors. The poster is supplied flat in a clear bag.

Information: The history of the Kings and Queens of England are shown in the amazing coinage each ruler produced during their reign. The portraits of the kings and queens changed over time from the early stylised images that gradually became more accurate. Some coins show side profiles of the ruling monarch, whilst others showed a front facing image.

The evolution of coin making can also be clearly seen from the early hand struck coins through to the first milled coins during the reign of Elizabeth I, the steam powered presses of the Victorian age and on to the electric presses of the modern day.
