Product Description: This Greek Helmet pencil topper is made from lead-free pewter and is a 3D model of a Greek Corinthian helmet. It is supplied on a 13cm black wooden pencil with the quote “The god of war is impartial: he hands out death to the man who hands out death. The Iliad” printed on it in silver.

Information: The Corinthian helmet originated in ancient Greece and took its name from the city state of Corinth. It was a helmet made of bronze and covered the entire head and neck, with slits for the eyes and mouth. Some helmets, such as this, would also have horsehair plumes.

The Iliad is one of two major ancient Greek epic poems attributed to Homer. Set towards the end of the Trojan War, a ten-year siege of the city of Troy by a coalition of Mycenaean Greek states, the poem depicts significant events in the siege's final weeks.
