Product Description: This 6cm tall Egyptian Cat is made from resin that is hand painted black with gold detail. It is supplied with a full-colour information card that has an image of an Egyptian funeral scene. There is also historical information which explains about Egyptian gods and the Goddess Bast. The cat and folded card are supplied in a clear box.

Information: This fine reproduction model is of a cat sacred to the Egyptian goddess of love, fertility and joy, Bast or Bastet. The worship of Bast dates from at least 4000 BC, reaching its height around 1500 BC when thousands of pilgrims poured into the temple at Bubastis to take part in the annual festival.
